Anode Glow Plays Reservoir, Carrboro NC

“We will control the earth,” says the electronic voice eminating from Jj Kidder’s keyboard at the end of Anode Glow’s song Sprites during their performance at Reservoir in Carrboro NC.

You can’t say they didn’t warn them …

Having just arrived from playing FrequeNC, “Hot and Sweaty Halloween” dance party at Nightlife, Chapel Hill/New York based, Anode Glow members Jj Kidder and Don Henze showed up extra relaxed, a little kooky, but obviously ready to play.

Their set of alien lounge music seemed to find the “earthlings” in a specially receptive mood – with Mr. Kidder taking extra care to trip them out with two new giz-moos -- dual Moog effects box’s – and Mr. Henze doing his part adding the essential cave-man element.

Of the show, "So and So" of SynthSights says, "You can really smell the Moogification! I especially enjoyed Sprites. Uh-Huh had some nice early Hancock/RTF jam-aroma, but the beat got me with the Sprites. The piano flurries also showed that Kidder has some quality chops and weren't just twisting knobs. Further proof that just a couple of boards and a few effects can be as impressive as a 20-space rack or 6 softsynths cooking a pair of laptops. It also does not appear that your drummer had a snootful of tequila. Quality gig."

“These songs are like wild beast…they refuse to be tamed,” says Mr. Henze

"Lovely people -- lovely time man," says Kidder.
